India and Saudi Arabia strengthen ties in investment meet

More than 500 businessmen from India and Saudi Arabia attended the India-Saudi Arabia Investment Forum 2023 chaired by Saudi Arabian Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, who was recently in India to attend the G20 summit.
It was the first official investment discussion between the two countries. The Saudi Arabian Crown Prince had earlier announced that Saudi Arabia will invest around $100 billion in various sectors in India. It was announced during his India visit February 2019.
The investment made by Saudi Arabia in India is valued $3.22 billion during the period from April 2000 to June 2023. Eram Group Chairman and FICCI Middle East Co-Chairman Dr. Siddeek Ahmed was also part of the Saudi-Indo delegation.
Eram Group and Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL) signed a Letter of Intent to make investment in Saudi Arabia’s electronic sector.
