Medford, Oregon, USA – October 30, 2023 – Today marks the triumphant conclusion of a 13-year journey as writer and producer Tom Monson releases “We Found Bigfoot.” In this compelling action-adventure docudrama, Monson takes audiences on an unforgettable quest into the world of Bigfoot, balancing mystery with humor.

Monson shares, “I didn’t want to create just another cheesy science fiction flick. We Found Bigfoot is a family-friendly adventure that explores the mysterious creature, offering an unforgettable cinematic experience.”

The film follows a celebrated documentary filmmaker who embarks on a journey to Oregon to document Bigfoot sightings, aiming to save an ancient forest from clearcutting. With breathtaking cinematography showcasing Oregon’s stunning landscapes, the film combines moments of humor with a resounding message: the importance of seeing things through to the end.

Monson’s journey to complete the movie was nothing short of remarkable. After being diagnosed with a rare eye condition and undergoing surgery, Monson faced production delays but remained undeterred. When key members of the team left during shooting, Monson turned to long-time friend and filmmaker, Calvin Kennedy, to ensure the project’s success.

Financial challenges and a second battle with cancer during the production process only added to the determination to see the movie through to its release.

And, just when he thought it was done, the distribution company filed bankruptcy only one month after the movie was released.

For the next five years, the rights to Monson’s movie were tied up in litigation. “When the courts finally gave me back the rights to my movie, no one could find the master,” Monson said.

After a six-month search for the master, Monson finally decided the only way to get this movie out there was to take all the original footage and re-edit it into a new movie.

“So for the last year and a half, I have been working with a team to get it done. There were still some delays but we finally finished it. Then I had to go out and find another distributor to get it onto as many platforms as possible.” Monson concluded.
