IIDE Student Presented an Award by the Government of India (GOI)
Divya Tandon, a dedicated student at IIDE Delhi, received recognition for her remarkable journey of upskilling at the 2nd Skill India Convocation Ceremony in 2023. The event, which took place on the 12th of October in New Delhi, was organized by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
The prestigious award was presented to the winners by the Education Minister – Dharmendra Pradhan and Minister of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship – Rajeev Chandrasekhar. Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, virtually addressed the awardees, stressing the pivotal role of contemporary skills in India’s growth.
Divya, who currently holds the position of a social media strategist at NP Digital India, was honoured for her expertise in the realm of digital marketing.
Overjoyed by this recognition, Divya shared her thoughts, saying, “It is an absolute privilege to be honored by the Government of India. This is an inspiration to achieve greater things in life. A great deal of thanks to IIDE and the whole team for recognising my candidature”
Originally from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, Divya pursued her post-graduation at the Asian Academy of Film and Television, located in Film City, Noida. She embarked on her career as a copywriter before venturing into the field of social media marketing.
Revealing her early fascination with advertising, Divya explained, “Ever since I was a kid, I have always been attracted to ads. I remember always staring at the Amul billboard ads a little too long. However, when the time came for me to choose a career, digital advertising had grown massively in India. So I chose that field over traditional marketing.”
In just two years, Divya witnessed significant changes in the advertising landscape, compelling her to seek further skill development. She firmly believes that change is the only constant and emphasizes the importance of adapting to it promptly.
This led her to commence her skill enhancement journey with the Indian Institute of Digital Education (IIDE), where she enrolled in an online digital marketing certification.
Reflecting on her experience at IIDE, she remarked, “I was looking to upskill with a course that would give me the right industry-relevant knowledge and I am happy to have found that in IIDE. From counseling to placement, people at IIDE Delhi are passionate about what they do and their energy is infectious.”
Divya also pointed out that the advertising industry has undergone a significant transformation with the advent of digitisation. She noted, “As sellers transitioned to the online space, us marketers had to adapt to the art of online advertising. The coming years are poised to witness a surge in job opportunities due to the escalating demand for digital branding and marketing.”
In her mission to inspire young individuals, Divya urges them to prioritize the continuous updating of their skill sets, particularly in digital skills, in accordance with the evolving demands of their respective industries.
IIDE is one of the institutes to have joined hands with NSDC (National Skills Development Corporation) to further NSDC’s initiative to skill India. They offer online certifications and postgraduate programs in digital marketing.
