35,000 visitors, 15,000 job vacancies, Outcomes of the 2023 OCS released
On December 23, the press conference for the results of the 2023 Convention on Exchange of Overseas Talents and the 25th Guangzhou Convention of Overseas Chinese Scholars in Science and Technology (hereafter referred to as OCS) was held at the Canton Fair Complex.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the OCS. The OCS focuses on education, science and technology, and talents.
With the theme of “Gathering talents around the world for a better future”, it uses the window of opportunity when overseas scholars come (return) to China to assemble talents and tap the potential of innovation through the opening ceremony and the main forum, as well as over 20 theme activities in five categories, including professional forums, featured activities, project roadshows, exhibitions, and talent recruitment. The OCS attracted 57 domestic government delegations and representatives of nearly 500 universities, research institutes, enterprises and public institutions, totaling 35,000 participants.
Over 100 domestic and foreign financial institutions and investment institutions and over 50 incubators, makerspaces, and entrepreneurship parks in the Greater Bay Area launched more than 1,300 cooperation projects and offered 15,000 jobs. The exhibition area totaled more than 20,000 square meters.
